Charity Begins at Home – Aug 2017
August 2017 adds up to an 18/9, meaning it is a 9 month, made up of a 1 and an 8. Shew, all very strong numbers.
In the positive this number says: “I use my initiative and resources to help any way I can.”
However, the potential for ego clashes, authority clashes and power struggles is HUGE! The destructive aspect says: “I use my ego and power to take control and get revenge, and if I don’t get my way there will be a war.”
Number 9 has to do with endings, and so I predict that there may be some political power changes towards the end of the month. Keep your eye on the top political figures in various countries around the world.
But what can each of us do constructively this month?
Charity begins at home.
* Check up on elderly relatives, give them love and show them respect.
* Help them to make decisions in life that will preserve their dignity.
* Assess their living conditions.
* Check that they are coping financially.
* Assess whether they need medical attention or check-ups.
* Perhaps it is time to move them to someplace where they will be taken good care of.
* Perhaps they need a carer to assist them.
* Perhaps homes need adapting – railings in showers and next to toilets, ramps instead of steps…
* Perhaps they are in need of walkers or wheelchairs, or an automatic car.
* Check up on all the young children and babies in your family too, and see if there is any help required there.
18 is a number that uses its financial abundance to help those in need. 9 is the number of the humanitarian.
August is not a month to start new, long-term projects. Leave that for September. Rather tackle something that you can finish by the end of August. Tie up loose ends, so that nothing is left undone at the end of this month.
Set your goals, so that you are focused and ready for September – the month where every year comes to a head and to fruition.
This is an emotional and potentially volatile time, as the last (hopefully) of wars over race- and religious differences surface to be cleared out. This was supposed to happen last year, but sometimes these processes need more time to run their course.
If you have not yet found your niche, expand your search to include areas that focus on culture, health, spirituality, or non-profit ventures. If you are without a job, ask to shadow someone so that at least you are learning something. Be of service to someone out of gratitude for the times when others helped you and pay it forward.
Any relationships or friendships that have drifted apart or become toxic, could break up now. This is especially true for those that should have ended last year and you have clung to for whatever reason.
See the blessings that difficult relationships brought into your life. All your difficult relationships are karmic, and you have sacred contracts with each and every one of those people. Thank them (silently in your own heart) for being a part of your journey and exposing your “shadow self”. What skills did you learn as a result? Who did you reach out to? What new friendships were forged?
Ho’oponopono is a Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. It is something you just do quietly in your own heart and it frees your energy.
It consists of four steps:
1. I’m sorry.
2. Please forgive me.
3. I thank you.
4. I love you.
In your heart say sorry to the person/s involved for your part in the “drama”. Acknowledge your part in the “dance” and your energy that attracted it. Thank the person for their role in your journey, and let go and move on. With love.
Forgive yourself and others.
