Colours and numbers and you.
You have probably often wondered how anybody can like or wear a certain colour. Perhaps you can`t understand why a friend does not think that the yummy colour you just redecorated with is simply divine. You may wonder why certain people tend to favour certain colours over others. There are all kinds of theories…
At the company I used to work for we had a “course” where we were taught to evaluate students according to the colours they wore and we were shown how it tied in to different brain areas.
I had a huge issue with that, but as most of my co-workers were young – around 19 years young – and bought it lock stock and barrel – I kept quiet and just flowed along with it as invisibly as possible.
My favourite colours, when asked by the facilitator, irritated him as I gave them as turquoise and orange which did not fit into any of the four quadrants.
My next favourite, when asked which came next, was aqua. “Green?” he asked. “No”, said I. “Aqua”. It did not fit anywhere either. As I was wearing a blue top he said he would go with that, as I obviously liked blue, which made me left brained in a certain quadrant. “No,” said I once more, “I am off the charts in the yellow quadrant – distinctly right-brained and HUGE on strategic planning”. Oh, dear, fitting in with society is honestly the most difficult thing to do, so I just don`t get or understand peer pressure… Most of the guys there liked blue, red and there was a yellow. The girls favoured blue or pink as well as green which was just fine! Many of them were wearing those colours – which further enhanced his theory. Oh, dear. Talk about being ignored… Anyhow, youngsters these days will never tell you they like purple because the word has spread that it is the colour of sexual frustration. What a pity! It is a royal as well as a spiritual colour which is perhaps why youngsters are uncomfortable with it. So you see, peer pressure plays a role in the colours that youngsters wear, as well as many other factors.
I have some favourite colours that I never wear. Why not? Simply because of the colour of my skin and hair. My favourite colour when I was young – like 10 and 12 – was green. Not any green, though, but the green of new baby leaves… a fresh, young green. Sort of limey but not lime green. However, my gran only once found long pants in that colour as it was definitely not a fashion colour for girls. I have never forgotten them. As a teenager I painted my room bright orange. I still love orange in my home – but I never wear it as it makes me look sick. So as far as I am concerned, we have two scenarios here and not only one.
Firstly there are your favourite colours in general and secondly what colours you look good in and wear – fashion allowing. Most people will wear blue at some stage, simply because of the worldwide phenomena of our famous blue jeans. Most people will wear black at some stage as well – ever heard of a “black tie event” or that “little black number” for an evening occasion? Yes, so you wear that colour. Ever been overweight and discovered the slimming illusion of black pants vs white? Sometimes what we wear has nothing to do with what colours we really like.
Now numerology is also linked to colour (as well as musical notes, but that is a different topic). Numbers are vibrations and so are colours (and sounds). A colour is that specific colour as it absorbs all the wavelengths of all the other colours except the one it reflects, which is what the eye sees.
Let us look at the numbers and see what colour corresponds with which number:
One is red. If you are leading pathway 1, born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, 28th or have a 1 in a main position you may love red. You probably drive a red car or dream of one. Red has all the qualities of the number 1, being assertive, individual and possessing leadership qualities. Number 1 says “Look at me”. So does red. Red can say: “Get out of my way, I am the boss, I come first”. Wear it to work if you want to make a statement in any way, but you may come over as aggressive. Power. Passion. Determination. Stimulation. Growth. Excitement. High spirits. Physical energy. Red can be used for extra energy, courage, direction, drive and enthusiasm. Red is a colour used for danger, action, confidence, courage, vitality, sex, excitement, speed, heat, leadership, masculinity, power, determination, ambition and for the pioneer.
Two is orange. If you are leading pathway 2 or born on the 2nd or the 20th, or have a 2 in a prominent position in your chart, you have orange energy. Orange is a combination of both red and yellow. It is a warm colour but does not shout the way red does. The aggression associated with red is calmed by the cheerfulness of yellow. Strength. Endurance. Success. Happiness. Learning energy. Emotion. Sexual energy. Self-acceptance. Fascination. Happiness. Creativity. Stimulation. Balance. Heat. Fire. Enthusiasm. Flamboyance. Playfulness. Revitalizing. Enthusiastic. Friendly.
Three is yellow. If you are leading pathway 3, born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, 30th or have a 3 in a main position you may love or need yellow. Yellow is bright and beautiful. It is the sun that shines bringing life to the world around us. It is clarity and awareness. Creativity. Optimism. Inventiveness. Joy. Happiness. Optimism. Idealism. Intellect. Yellow is empowering. It energizes the brain and helps with confusion. It will help you to be assertive, objective, positive and cheerful. Wisdom. Definitely verbal and originally creative. Sociable, happy and amusing people like yellow. As a matter of interest it is the colour room that makes babies cry the most in. Perhaps it is the mental stimulation. Not sure but it is a fact. So keep yellow for smaller focal areas when decorating or choose a subdued tone.
Four is green. If you are leading pathway 4, born on the 4th, 13th or 31st or have a 4 in a main position you may love green. Green is a symbol of spring and the renewal of life after a long, cold winter. Growth. Abundance. Peace. Rest. Responsibility. Green is neutral, balanced and harmonious. It is healing and both calming and energizing. Green will bring you the understanding you need to love without conditions – both yourself and others. Green is the colour of the healer, a love-centered person. It will help with all issues concerned with stability, faithfulness and discipline. If you like green you are probably organized and cautious. My great-aunt used to say “You can`t work in a garden and be otherwise“. It is good for emotional healing.
Five is blue. If you are leading pathway 5, born on the 5th, 14th, 23rd, or have a 5 in a main position you may love blue. Blue is a cool colour. It is peaceful and tranquil. Growth. Patience, Tranquility. Calmness. Confidence. Dependability. Cleanliness. Blue gives us the energy of peace and honesty. It is soothing and calming bringing rest, serenity and tranquility. It helps us to peacefully reflect on our experiences and focus on solutions. Think Blue if you lose your temper. It will help with communication, empathy, teaching others, stillness, self-expression and the search for truth. 5`s need the balance and calmness of blue to stop them from thinking all the time.
Six is indigo. If you are leading pathway 6, born on the 6th, 15th, 24th or have a 6 in a main position you may love indigo. Intuition, meditation, deep contemplation. It relates to the third eye. Sensitivity. Deep feeling. Creativity. Imagination. Wisdom. Dignity. Self-mastery. Spiritual realization. Insight. Inspiration. Inner communication. Indigo gives us the energy of intuition and dreams. It increases our perception and has the power and force to change negative to positive. It brings us the ability to understand that which is hidden and gives us a determination to succeed.
Seven is violet. If you are leading pathway 7, born on the 7th, 16th, 25th or have a 7 in a main position you may love violet. Violet is a lighter shade of purple and purple is royalty, luxury and wealth. It is a mysterious colour derived from a mixture of opposites. Red is the warmest of the warm colours and blue is cool to the point of being cold. Combined they often elicit an unpredictable reaction from people. The most sensitive and wisest of colours. This is the intuitive colour in the aura and reveals psychic power of attunement with the self. Intuitive. Visionary. Futuristic. Idealistic. Artistic. Magical. Inner Work. Spirituality. Elegance. Sensuality. Wealth. Royalty. Nobility. Ceremony. Mystery. Inspiration. Imagination. Enlightenment. Transformation. It is also analytical, fussy but prepared. Violet is soothing, purifying. It helps us to find our spiritual path.
Eight is rose pink. If you are leading pathway 8, born on the 8th, 17th, 26th or have an 8 in a main position you may love pink and have pink energy. Pink symbolizes love and beauty. Brighter pinks are youthful, fun and exciting, while vibrant pinks have the same high energy as red – sensual and passionate without being too aggressive. Toning down the passion of red with the purity of white results in the softer pinks in all their hues. Innovation. Dramatic change. Pink is the energy of caring and generosity. It is the colour of love – especially self-love. Pink gives you the feelings of kindness and affection. It is great for calming strong emotions. Pink can be used for comfort, gentleness, contentment, forgiveness and self acceptance.
Nine is bronze. If you are leading pathway 9, born on the 9th, 18th, 27th or have a 9 in a main position you may love bronze, brown and beige shades.Brown says stability, reliability, and approachability. It is the colour of our earth and is associated with all things natural or organic. All Pastels also vibrate to the number 9. Wisdom. Wealth. Brown has the calming, soothing energy of security, of reassurance and supportive strength. It brings us a quiet powerful determination to grow and be seen to be here. Brown can be used for grounding, focus, concentration, self discipline and loyalty. It is the colour of many of our comforts. Coffee, chocolate… need I say more?
Eleven is silver. If you are leading pathway 11, born on the 11th or 29th or have an 11 in a main position you have silver energy. Black, White or Pearl Grey also fall into this category. Silver brings us the energy of Reflection. It stills the emotions and lights our way. This is the colour of abundance, both spiritual and physical. Lots of bright silver can reflect to plenty of money, and/or awakening of the cosmic mind. Receptive to new ideas; intuitive; nurturing.
Twenty two is gold. If you are leading pathway 22, which is very rare or were born on the 22nd or have a 22 in a main position (has to be made up of 2 11`s) you have gold energy. Coral or Russet are also part of this energy. Wealth. Prosperity. Wisdom. Gold will bring you optimism, trust, hope and help you to develop your wisdom. Gold encourages you to succeed in all you set out to do. Gold is as good as it gets, but requires patience to manifest. Literally all that you touch could turn to gold.
To end off I would just like to say that the two colours that you cannot be neutral about are orange and purple. You either love them or hate them. The densest colour is red so should be used in smaller amounts than colours more to the other end of the spectrum. Remember, too, that the colour of your leading pathway will help you in your career, but the colours of your soul urge, personality and destiny numbers will help you to show the world more of who you are.
Next time I will tell you about some idioms and expressions etc that involve colour and show you how they tie in with the numbers. This is very interesting! I will be away for a week but back in full swing thereafter. Until next time – see what colours do to your mood and how you feel about each of them…
