Karma or no karma – that is the question.
A good question. What am I getting at? What have all these questions got to do with anything? (Read my previous blogs in the archives on the right if you have not been following the story before you read this).
Your beliefs in life are important to a numerologist. They want to help people, not scare them off. Numerology is a science and not a religion so is applicable to all groups of people. The questions she was asking would determine whether she would bring the concept of karma into my reading or not and her level of sensitivity towards whatever I believed.
It was thus only fitting that she ask me these questions before my first numerology reading began. We had a discussion in which I told her briefly of my seeking the Truth and how I had not yet found anything that felt authentic. If I were a Loving Father, I would not favour one child over another. I would not give one child a “cushy” life and subject another to unspeakable pain or suffering. Karma addresses the concept of inequality that Christianity has never been able to give me an explanation for. It addresses for me why people are born into different religions and why we should be more tolerant of that and not try to “convert” everybody to one way of thinking but practice unconditional love. It would be easy to learn unconditional love if we all thought and did the same. No challenge there! However, as a Loving Father it is fitting to take away privileges from a child in order that they realize that every action has consequences. Privileges can then be added to “reward” lessons well learnt with humbleness. The same applies to children who show remorse and apologize for hurting others. This is, very basically, what karma is.
Now I have come to believe that this does not happen in one lifetime. Too much to learn…… so if you believe in more than one lifetime (frowned upon by Christianity) then understanding that you are who and what you are in this lifetime as a result of what you have done in the past makes perfect sense. In fact it is the ONLY thing that makes sense to me. Thus your inborn talents are also from things you learned in previous lives and differ from those of your siblings. Places that seem so familiar could also be because you were there in past lifetimes. People you feel as if you have “known forever”, you recognize and know from past lives. To add to this you choose a mother and father, the type of people you need to be surrounded by and the setting (including the religion) that you will be born into to allow yourself to master what you have yet to learn. Numerology will point out clearly what this is.
We all seem to agree that what goes around, comes around. We are taught to “do unto others as you would like them do unto you”. This all helps avoid new karma that we will have to deal with whether we like it or not.
So, with those questions asked, discussed and answered, I was comfortable to proceed with my reading and include the concept of karma. I relaxed, feeling as if I had finally found someone with answers that I could relate to.
You can relax now as I will not go any further into the concept of past lives and karma again for a while to come. Next time I will continue with the story of my first numerology reading now that I have explained how she established how she would proceed.
