When I was thinking about a logo for Janet's Numerology, I just could not come up with the right "feel". I met with a friend I had not seen in a while, who had no knowledge of my deep thoughts regarding my logo. Out of the blue she asked me: "Where is your dream catcher?" It took me a few seconds to realise, as she touched her hands to her neck, that she was talking about my dream catcher pendant.
I have always had a fascination with dream catchers.
I used to possess an exquisite piece of jewellery - a dream catcher - 24 carat gold with gold filigree and lapis lazuli stones. It went missing during a move from one home to another. This piece of jewellery was very special to me. I purchased it from my numerology teacher who had it specially made during the time I was studying numerology with her. I was heartbroken when it went missing.
Lapis lazuli is a beautiful blue and is known for its many spiritual and healing properties. I wore it because of its ability to open the third eye and enhance intuition.
7 years had passed since it went missing and I had all but forgotten about its existence. I expressed my shock at her even remembering it. She went on to say: " I was thinking about it on my way here while I was driving, and thought that if you ever needed a logo for your numerology, that a dream catcher would be perfect. It is so YOU." She added that in her mind what I did was to help people make their dreams come true.
To say I was shocked was putting it mildly. I knew it was a sign. My whole life is a series of "signs" and "clues" that are sent when I need them most.
Two days later I was visiting a healer friend who knows of my passion for sacred geometry and sacred symbols. I told her about the dream catcher as a logo. She guided and encouraged me to put some thought into the contents and colours of the dream catcher and took out a few of her books from her delightful selection on the topic. She sat me down on a comfortable couch with exquisite cushions, put some soft music on, placed a pile of books in front of me and poured me a glass of pomegranate cordial. As the ideas started formulating, she used kinesiology muscle testing to monitor the progress of how close I was to the ultimate emblem that would convey all I wanted it to convey and carry my own unique energy.
I eventually decided on the star of Lakshmi for the "web".
Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of Wealth. The Star of Lakshmi is an eight pointed star made up of two squares. The points symbolize the eight kinds of wealth provided by Lakshmi. She is a much worshiped goddess. The festival of Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is hugely in her honour. She is the goddess who may bring wealth and prosperity to her followers.
For the centrepiece I used a plaque with my favourite "feel-good" colours, with indigo at the centre, a reminder of my own dream catcher and the lapis lazuli stones. Onto this circular plaque I inserted Metatron's Cube. This sacred geometry gives me gooseflesh whenever I look at it as the energy runs through me . The geometry looks simple but is very complex.
Metatron's cube contains every shape that exists in the universe, and those shapes are the building blocks of all physical matter, which are known as Platonic solids. Platonic solids is a name given as it was the philosopher Plato who linked them to the spirit world of heaven and the physical elements on Earth. These three-dimensional shapes appear throughout creation, in everything from crystals to human DNA.
Metatron is known as the angel of life. He guards the Tree of Life. He writes down the good deeds people do on Earth, as well as what happens in heaven, in the Book of Life (which is also known as the akashic record). Metatron is traditionally considered to be the spiritual brother of archangel Sandalphon and both were humans on Earth before ascending to heaven as angels. Metatron is said to have lived as the prophet Enoch, and Sandalphon as the prophet Elijah. People sometimes ask for Metatron's help to discover their personal spiritual power and learn how to use it to bring glory to God and make the world a better place.
The Ojibwe (also Ojibwa), or Chippewa, are one of the largest groups of Native Americans living on the North American continent. They believe that a dream catcher changes a person's dreams. Only good dreams would be allowed to filter through… Bad dreams would stay in the net, disappearing with the light of day. Good dreams would pass through and slide down the feathers to the sleeper.
I brought in numbers and their numerological meanings. After all, numbers are very meaningful to me and tell me very vivid stories accompanied by equally vivid mental images.
The circle is the 0, the beginning and the end; the alpha and the omega. The dream catcher is full of circular elements. I am a Scorpio. Scorpio is ruled by the planet Pluto (and Mars too) and Pluto's number is 0. Interestingly, Pluto is the reason the Scorpio will not budge until given a sign of confirmation when making important decisions. Now I know where that comes from, Lol!
The star of Lakshmi with its 8 points brought in the number 8, a very auspicious number for business and money, an infinity sign and reminder of "as above, so below." Two sets of squares, with 4 "points" each, brings to mind the master number 44, which is the master therapist, which is my ultimate goal in this lifetime for myself. Scorpio is the 8th sign of the zodiac.
Metatron's cube has many elements pertaining to the number 6, my leading pathway; a number of responsibility, service and love with all the heart and soul.
The beads are in strands of either 3 or 5. 3 is an expressive and creative number. 5 is quick-thinking, full of ideas, flexible and gets its inspiration from above and brings it down to earth. Altogether there are 11 beads - my final pinnacle cycle and power number; a number pertaining to the inspired teacher and philosopher.
There are 7 feathers. 7 is the number of spiritual searching, spiritual wisdom and faith. It is commonly thought in most cultures that feathers are symbols of higher thought and spiritual progression, and have been linked to peace, upliftment, joy and lightness
My heartfelt thanks to Wanda and Johanna for helping me materialise my logo. Thanks, Robynne, for designing it for me.
